Together with photographs of the mining community of Kennicott, Alaska, this album includes pictures of the Copper River and Northwestern Railway, Cordova, Kennicott and various pictures of scenery in Alaska. This collection consists of scenes of making a motion picture of Cordova's fire department, preparation and construction of snowsheds in Abercrombie Canyon, Woods Canyon and Kennicott Glacier, dip-netting in the Abercrombie Rapids, various views of bridge construction and people identified in group photos. People identified in this collection are: U.S. Secretary of the Interior, Walter L. Fisher; Dr. Fenton B. Whiting; John Shedwick, a mining engineer for Kennecott Mining; Bishop Rowe; Sam Murchison, M.J. Heney's engineer; R.H. Moore, who operated a general merchandise store in the vicinity of McCarthy; and several photographs of a man named Bitner, possibly George Bittner, who operated a roadhouse in Chisana City and worked Bonanza No. 12 in 1915. This photograph album includes a group portrait of those at the Republican Convention in Cordova in 1912 and of the office force, engineers, management and staff of Kennecott Mine. There are also commercial photographs from photographers P.S. Hunt and E.A. Hegg, who rode the first through train from Cordova on March 27, 1911.
